Jon Ward is a thirty-three year old man who has been tormented by the same recurring nightmare for literally all his life. He wakes up screaming with a terrible migraine. Lately, however, it's been getting worse. He starts to have the nightmare when he's awake, so his wife, Trina, insists that he sees a psychiatrist. The shrink, Sam Dayton, wants to try hypnosis therapy on Jon to understand what the dream means. Under hypnosis, Jon begins to speak German, a language he doesn't know, and talk about killing people. The book was good in its own way. There wasn't much blood; it tried to go more for suspense, but it didn't really succeed. I won't give away any spoilers, but I knew by chapter three what his dreammeant. (It has to do with reincarnation). I also knew by chapter three that Sam Dayton's unscrupulous secretary and her drug addict boyfriend would try to use Jon for their own ends. The story had a few good spots, a few chills, but in my opinion, it would have been better if the author had tried harder to surprise us. He just made all the plot twists way too obvious. It's not a bad book by any means. If you're interested in stories of reincarnation, you'll find it very compelling. I just feel let down by a book when I can easily guess what's going to happen next.
